Enamelled ceramic vase from the 1950s/60s, West Germany, with typical graphic design of the period. H: 31cm Diam: 14cm.

German ceramists were restricted during the years of Nazism and it was not until the post-war period that production restarted. Numerous studios and factories then emerged and German ceramics regained the vitality and creativity of the Bauhaus era. Located between the Scandinavian countries, France and Italy, Germany produced numerous pieces between 1950 and 1970, often signed W. Germany or West Germany. Based on a semi-industrial process, the shapes are often identical, but the decorations are very different from one enameler to another. The number visible below corresponds to the shape of the model.
